TEAM LEAGUE 2015

The Schoeman Park League Open commenced on Wednesday 4 March. The format for the league is a 4 ball alliance with 2 scores to count. There are still 8 months remaining of the League. The 7 best scores will be used for determining the winner. You are still welcome to enter a team. The defending champion is Team Van Wyk & Preller.

After the first round we have in the lead: "Infinity" Captained by Louis Burger and "Matjiene" Captained by Jaco Kok. Both teams are on 88 points. They are closely followed by Team FNB Cheetahs Captained by Tabu Pietersen.

Bloemfontein’s Dean Burmester got off to a solid start at the 2015 Joburg Open yesterday with an opening round of seven under par 64 on the West Course of the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.

Burmester fired 9 birdies during his round, and had it not been a bogey on the 9th and the 13th he could have been tied in the lead with Nic Henning.

Bursmester finished the round in tied fifth South Africa’s Garth Mulroy and Australia’s Jason Scrivener.

Henning in his turn first a bogey free round with seven birdies and an eagle on the 3rd to take him to 9 under.

Following his round, the veteran of South African golf said he will enjoy the lead for now with the dreaded East Course looming.

Belgium’s Thomas Pieters is the top international player in the field on 8 under par 63.
